Eerste Bergensche Boekhandel

The ‘Eerste Bergensche Boekhandel’ is a very well known literary bookshop in the Netherlands. It is situated in a characteristic, monumental building in the centre of the village of Bergen.
Based on our design the whole building - the bookshop as well as the private house on the first floor - has been restored and renovated, conserving all historical elements.

Inspired by the ‘bouquinistes’ along the Seine in Paris we designed big wooden book chests as permanent fixtures placed in front of the bookshop.
